Letter to the Editor:

We can all check the facts now

Joe Biden

President Joe Biden speaks during a presidential debate hosted by CNN with Republican presidential candidate former President Donald Trump, Thursday, June 27, 2024, in Atlanta.

Truth exists no matter how deep it is buried. We found dinosaurs, a universe, interpreted ancient languages and found lost manuscripts that revealed facts that had been hidden for decades, centuries and even millennia.

We opened the floodgates of knowledge with hand-held computers and the development of lightning-speed access to the truth. With the touch of a button, we have the capacity to separate fact from fiction.

President Joe Biden may have been soft spoken and fragile during the recent debate, but he spoke truth. Donald Trump, on the other hand spewed one lie after another.

There is no longer an excuse to succumb to the lies we are being fed by those who prefer to hide the truth. The younger generations have figured this out. They’re not going to spoil their brains with nonsense. The truth is in their hands and they know how to find it. If Trump is elected, there will be no excuse for succumbing to his lies. The truth is in the palm of our hands and it may be the tool that saves our democracy.
