Gaming is Las Vegas’ goose that laid the golden egg. When the city becomes too hot for people to want to visit in the summer, let alone move here, we will have killed that goose.
Watering lawn grass works like a swamp cooler to cool off neighborhoods through evaporative cooling. The short-sighted growth initiative to eventually remove all of the grass in the Las Vegas Valley will hasten the day when our urban heat island kills the goose.
