GOP leaders lack backbone

At the Republican National Convention, Nikki Haley — who fought Donald Trump for the party’s presidential nomination — said she would vote for Trump in November and that Trump had her “strong” endorsement.

In February, Haley said the idea of making Trump the Republicans’ nominee was “like suicide for our country,” and called Trump “unhinged” and “more diminished” than he was in 2016.

Then there was Sen. JD Vance, R-Ohio, who accepted Trump’s offer to be his running mate. Vance had previously referred to himself as a “never Trumper” and to Trump as “America’s Hitler.”

Republicans like Vance and Haley are devoid of principles and convictions.

We must defeat Trump, because even his fellow Republicans believe he is unfit to serve another presidential term.
