There’s still time to leave the cult

This is how former President Donald Trump was introduced at his recent rally in Las Vegas: “Thank God we are here in Sunset Park to worship and bring back the greatest president we’ve ever known in our generation.” That certainly sounds like cult behavior to me.

What has hijacked Trump supporters’ brains and caused this delusional thinking, that they so blindly follow this clearly ill gentleman who went on to ramble about boats and sharks here in the desert? It would be laughable if it were not so serious.

It’s akin to the hysterical teenagers screaming for Elvis in the ’50s, but these are not hysterical teenagers; these are adult voters, and some of them carry guns and inspired others to storm the U.S. Capitol, weaponize the legal system, overturn a legitimate election and subvert our democratic way of life.

It is time for an intervention? How can we get the media to enlist physicians and cult experts to explain this behavior and get on with the deprogramming before the election? It’s time that all media show the unhealthy behaviors of Trump and his followers and not pretzel-twist reality to their liking.

Let’s get on with it before we lose our democracy or they drink the Kool-aid!
