Alito said, “One side or the other is going to win.” This is hardly a sentiment that either of our political parties or any of our constitutional authorities would have expressed prior to the MAGA era.
In this view, there are good guys and bad guys. Conservative “good guys” must defeat and banish liberal “bad guys” before they defeat and exile us.
Have we ever taught at home or in church, at school or at work, that our neighbors must be destroyed so our own lopsided thinking can be enthroned on the pedestal of authoritarian power?
