It’s often said that history repeats itself. We are seeing the wisdom in that phrase today. Are we in 2024? Or are we elsewhere in time?
Let’s see: In Europe, Vladimir Putin behaves just like Hitler did in the 1930s. All he wants is for Ukraine to come back into the fold of Russia and then he will not make any more territorial demands, Putin says. Just change a few words here and there and the conversation could easily be about the taking of the Ruhr andAlsace-Lorraine from France and Belgium in the early ’30s.
Agitators at universities are protesting Israel’s self-defense from Hamas terrorists. Doesn’t it remind you of the 1960s protests about Vietnam?
How about all the undocumented people coming across the southern border? The Cuban Mariel “invasion,” anyone?
All that comes up we have seen before.
