Gun regulations are long overdue

The school year has hardly begun and already there’s been a mass shooting at a Georgia high school. Parents are left to wonder if their kids are any safer here than in Gaza or Ukraine.

With only two months left before Election Day, the time is at hand for a reexamination of this nation’s lax gun laws. How is it even possible for a 14-year-old to so easily access a firearm?

It has been shown repeatedly that a vast majority of Americans are now in favor of a permanent ban on assault weapons as well as comprehensive background checks.

Not only is it timely in this election year to promote sensible gun control legislation but it’s the morally correct stance, considering all of the lives that have been lost to deranged shooters.
