Elect calm and rational leaders in November

President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris have unequivocally condemned the assassination attempts on former President Donald Trump. They have even called Trump personally to offer their support. Yet Trump and his running mate, JD Vance, blame Democrats’ rhetoric for causing these assassination attempts.

Democrats have critiqued Trump for his abysmal handling of COVID and the economy while he was president. They have condemned his incitement of a violent insurrection on Jan. 6, 2021, in his attempt to overturn a fair election. Democrats acknowledge Trump’s countless reckless, incompetent and criminal actions throughout his public life.

Democrats are warning us of the extremist policies delineated in Project 2025 authored for the Heritage Foundation by former Trump administration officials. Both Trump and Vance have repeatedly stated their support for the work of the Heritage Foundation. They also receive massive political contributions from its members.

Democrats rightly criticize Trump and Vance for their unconscionable brazen tactics as they continue to create and spread vile lies that Haitians in Ohio are eating pets. They intentionally stoke malice and potential violence against peaceful immigrants in order to rile their MAGA base.

Do we want hate-driven, morally bankrupt politicians such as Trump and Vance leading our nation? No, and never again.
