Have an attitude of gratitude during the holidays: Thursday, Dec. 11, 2008; 'Tis the season to be jolly, fa la la la la, la la la la. For some the nature of that song sounds more like bla, bla, bla, bla, bla. Facing such unparalleled issues of the economy, unemployment, and families needing to provide for their basic needs, let alone the specialties of this holiday season, one could easily become despondent.
WinterFest brings holidays to Henderson: Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2008; It was a cold and rainy day, the chill of winter gnawed like a knife, as we strung the last set of festive lights. Now that is a tall tale. Really, it was Sunday last when the family and I, dressed in shorts and tee shirts ventured out on an annual trek to purchase our Christmas tree right here in Clark County.
You better watch out – Santa Claus is running through town: Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2008; In 2007, 7,269 Santas made history as they gathered in downtown Las Vegas to help Opportunity Village break the World Record for the Largest Santa Gathering and, at the same time, raised much needed funds and awareness for "Las Vegas' Favorite Charity."
