Week 8 NFL picks for the Sun’s handicapping contest

With the Los Angeles Rams slaughtering the NFL as the league’s lone unbeaten team and leader in point differential through seven weeks, bookmakers have wondered what it would take for gamblers to bet against them.

They’re getting their answer in week 8. It’s Aaron Rodgers.

Or, at least, Aaron Rodgers getting career-high amount of points on the betting line. The veteran quarterback leads the Green Bay Packers against the Rams in a 1:25 p.m. game this afternoon at the  Los Angeles Coliseum as 9-point underdogs, and most bettors aren’t hesitating to take the big number.   

Midweek reports indicated as much as three out of every four tickets were coming in on Green Bay, which sits at 3-2-1 straight-up on the year coming out of a bye week. Green Bay at Los Angeles is the game of the week in the Sun’s handicapping contest, meaning the three competing sports writers are required to use one of six wagers off the South Point betting board on the contest.
