The surge is working! The surge, an influx of combat troops in Iraq, ordered recently by the president, is reported to be effective.
However, we are in Iraq because the president listened to his intelligence advisers and decided to invade. He failed to listen to his military advisers as to the number of combat troops necessary. We now have that number of troops on the ground in Iraq, and it is working.
Why now and not five years ago? How many have lost their lives, been injured, have had families disrupted by the Decider’s failure to listen to the experts and rely on his “gut feelings”?
