After reading the column “Preparing for the psychology of open carry” by John Crisp in Sunday’s Las Vegas Sun, it’s obvious the Old West has reared its ugly head, largely from the overwhelming persuasion the National Rifle Association has on our politicians, accounting for huge profits to both.
Screenings and background checks are simply a thin veil designed to ease the public’s mind. I doubt I’d feel any safer knowing many patrons in a movie theater are armed to the teeth. Could an individual who suffers a coughing fit or an infant’s cries justify a hail of gunfire? In some minds, the answer would be yes.
The idea of a Peaceable Kingdom where the lion and the lamb lie calmly is laughable. All that will result in is the slaughter of many more to add to the growing list of causalities.
Wake up, America! Write your congressmen to decry the insanity the NRA pressures them with.
