My mother, who died at 92, lived a life of fear whenever she saw a police uniform, even though she was a die-hard American and truly loved this country.
She was always scared to death by the sight of a policeman because when she was a toddler living in Russia, she saw the Cossacks kill all her relatives. She never got over the trauma of witnessing the scene of her parents being slaughtered by the so-called police. This left her with an honest fear of those in uniform.
She came to this country, learned English and became a loyal, appreciative citizen. She made a positive contribution to our society. If she were alive today, she would be crying out loudly over the plight of these children at the southern border.
President Donald Trump has got to change his ways or he will destroy this country and himself.
