The Bishop Gorman and Liberty high football teams will face separate opponents tonight in the road games of a lifetime.

The Las Vegas area powers, always eager to schedule challenging nonleague games, are in Hawaii to face respected regional opponents. When you consider the travel and time change, the other team is only half of the test.

Gorman plays reigning Hawaii state champion St. Louis at the famed Aloha Stadium. Liberty plays at host Mililani, a school they beat in Las Vegas four seasons ago in a game featuring 129 points.

Other games of note tonight include: Desert Pines hosting Reno’s Bishop Manogue, last year’s state runners-up; Arbor View taking on American Fork of Utah; and Coronado traveling to Overton to play 3A power Moapa Valley.

We’ll post final scores as soon as they are reported. Send game details Twitter using #sunstandout. Check back all night — and season — for updates.
