- Henderson firefighters were battling a blaze late this afternoon at the Mission Ridge condominiums just south of the Green Valley Ranch Resort in Henderson. Firefighters were called to the scene at 4:27 p.m. Monday about a structure fire, and flames were still showing as of about 5:15 p.m., according to Kathryn Hooper, public education and information officer for the Henderson Fire Department.

- Clark County District Judge Valorie Vega said Friday she intends to fight state judicial ethics charges filed against her for the way she conducted a 2010 murder case, saying the claims lack merit. The Nevada Commission on Judicial Discipline announced Friday that three counts of judicial misconduct were filed June 5 against Vega. She is accused of manipulating the schedule of a 2010 child abuse murder retrial so it didn't conflict with her personal schedule.
