Henderson firefighters were battling a blaze late this afternoon at the Mission Ridge condominiums just south of the Green Valley Ranch Resort in Henderson. Firefighters were called to the scene at 4:27 p.m. Monday about a structure fire, and flames were still showing as of about 5:15 p.m., according to Kathryn Hooper, public education and information officer for the Henderson Fire Department.

Clark County District Judge Valorie Vega said Friday she intends to fight state judicial ethics charges filed against her for the way she conducted a 2010 murder case, saying the claims lack merit. The Nevada Commission on Judicial Discipline announced Friday that three counts of judicial misconduct were filed June 5 against Vega. She is accused of manipulating the schedule of a 2010 child abuse murder retrial so it didn't conflict with her personal schedule.
