Week 12 feels right around the time where a game can be safely labeled as a, “must-win.”
Just ask Vikings’ and Packers’ fans. The NFC North rivals face off in a desperate attempt to stay in the divisional race at 5:25 p.m. tonight on Sunday Night Football.
It’s the game of the week in the Sun’s handicapping contest, meaning each competing sports writer must use one of six wagers off of the South Point betting board on the matchup. The Vikings are 3.5-point favorites on the betting line, with the over/under set at 48 points.
The loser will be at least 2.5 games behind the Chicago Bears, which improved to 8-3 with a Thanksgiving win over Detroit, in the NFC North race. The division’s standings are the most surprising in the NFL based on the preseason betting odds.
The Vikings and Packers opened as the two favorites at Even money and plus-160 (risking $1 to win $1.60), respectively at the Westgate Las Vegas Superbook with the Bears all the way back at 14-to-1. Chicago is pulling away, however, as the season rounds into the final quarter, and the loser of Green Bay at Minnesota will be extremely hard-pressed to catch up.
